Lamination is a process of bonding a thin layer of transparent plastic film onto a printed material or substrate. This film, often known as lamination film or laminate, provides protection and enhances the durability and appearance of the printed piece.

1.                 Printing: The initial step involves printing the document or graphic on paper or another substrate using traditional printing methods like offset or digital printing.

2.                 Lamination Film Selection: A suitable lamination film is chosen based on the desired finish and the type of printed material. Lamination films come in various finishes, including gloss, matte, and satin.

3.                 Laminating Machine Setup: The printed material and the selected lamination film are fed into a laminating machine. The laminating machine consists of rollers and heating elements.

4.                 Encapsulation: The printed material passes through the laminating machine, where it is sandwiched between the layers of the lamination film. The film is typically larger than the printed material, creating a sealed border around the edges, known as encapsulation.
